The holidays are over, and so is the Chaos

Saturday, December 27, 2008

This holiday season was a tough one here at Eden Kitty Studios. I'm sure it was for many small businesses as we saw the downturn in the economy effect everything from our materials, to just plain old demand.

I managed to do three week long shows, and still keep sane, though I think I will pass on trying to do that again!

Eden Kitty Studios is going to take a bit of time off and recoup some energy all the while making some projects I just haven't had time to do.

While the snow melts, I'll go back to knitting!!!

Macro Features Rule! (Photo Week Day 4)

Thursday, June 12, 2008

Another one of my famous, "I just happen to be short photos."

I loved the way the snow accumulated in the indentations left by the bolts on this railing. I apparently really like snow. Thank goodness for the Macro feature of most newer cameras.

Height Challenged? (Photo Week Day 2)

Tuesday, June 10, 2008

So I have noticed that height plays a huge part in how I see the world. Being of shorter stature leads me to look down and be a lot closer than those of greater stature. So I notice things low down very acutely.

This picture was taken at my favorite fall in the Columbia river gorge. It has obviously snowed, but I loved the play of moss and snow and rock, Rock that withstands the passage of time, moss that creeps horribly slow, and snow that was born of water, and will return, but that is wearing away at the stone beneath. The amazing juxtaposition of a fleeting moment, etching itself immeasurably in something we consider to be permanent.
